What is a service credit? +
One credit covers the RCE technician's call-out fee plus the first full hour on site for any of the 18 tracked services. If the job takes longer, each additional hour or part thereof costs one additional credit. Parts and materials are never included in credits โ€” they're always quoted separately in the app before work begins and held in escrow until you approve.
Why is there a 6-month minimum on Silver and Gold? +
Silver and Gold plans include service credits that represent a genuine discount on the standard walk-in rate of R950/credit. The 6-month minimum protects that discount. If you cancel within 6 months, credits you've used are rebilled at the standard R950 rate. After 6 months you can cancel anytime with no fee.
What is the free onboarding visit? +
Silver and Gold members receive a free visit from an employed RCE technician who inspects your property in person, photographs each system, and builds your HomeGuard Pro profile on the spot. Your Home Health Score is calculated from what they actually see โ€” not what you remember. The visit is free and does not consume a service credit. Most members discover at least one overdue system during this visit.
Do bundles use my included credits? +
No. Bundle add-ons are separate from your Plan credits. Bundles pre-schedule specific services at the R700 member credit rate, spread into a fixed monthly payment. Your Plan credits are yours to use for any service you choose โ€” bundles don't touch them.
What if a technician can't access my property or it's unsafe? +
If a technician arrives and can't safely perform the service โ€” roof too high for a standard ladder, scaffolding required, aggressive animals, structural instability, gas leak, or aggression directed at our team โ€” they will not proceed and no credit is consumed. We notify you via the app within 2 hours with the specific reason. Any additional access costs are quoted separately โ€” you are under no obligation to accept.
Are parts and materials included in my plan? +
No. Credits cover labour only. If your geyser's anode rod needs replacing, the technician quotes you for the part before touching it. You approve in the app, the amount is held in escrow, the part is fitted, and you release payment when satisfied. You always know the cost before it's committed.
